There was a great turnout for the first annual Mat-Su Fiber Festival!
Classes and demonstrations included lucet cord weaving, Kuihimo cord technique, dyeing, and both needle and Nuno felting.
Colony Clovers 4H Club hosted kids’ activities all day long. Kids enjoyed learning how to spin and knit.
Michelle from Tower Hill Ranch brought her sheep, Becky from AK Frayed Knot toted her pygora goats, and Krystal from Grumpy Bunny Woolworks showed off her angora rabbits. The animals were a big hit with kids and adults alike!
A special thanks to Becky Oviatt, our Mat-Su Regional Coordinator, and her committee for putting together such a great event. Planning is already underway for next year’s festival–contact Becky at AK Frayed Knot if you’re interested in participating!
